Objectives 1. Review the current epidemiology and optimal management of important health care associated pathogens, including multi-drug resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter sp. and extended spectrum B-lactamase producing organisms. 2. Update the epidemiology and treatment of community acquired pathogens, with an emphasis on the impact of emerging antimicrobial resistance on the management of community acquired infections. 3. Review the most recent advances in the management of methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus, both community-acquired and health care associated. 4. Highlight the most recent developments in the diagnosis and management of fungal infections
